I'm a guy n I'm going to the spa for a manicure+pedicure+facial. Should I add in a body treatment n massage?

I'm a 22 yr old guy. I'm graduating from college at the end of this week. I had heard about guys going to spas, so i figured what the heck... and I scheduled a manicure, pedicure and facial at a spa. Its scheduled for right after finals, a few days before the graduation ceremony I already asked about this on Yahoo answers before and the general consensus seemed to approve. If you have any thoughts on this let me know. Now my new question is this.... Should I call and add in a massage too? They have 30 min massage for $45 and 60 min massage for $75. I also noticed they do body treatments. Should I do one of these too? The have a choice of Custom Exfoliation Treatment, Hungarian Herbal Mud Treatment, and Honey-Carrot-Flax Seed Treatment. Is it a appropriate for a guy to get one of these? Also could i do all of the above, manicure and pedicure and facial and massage and body treatment all in one day? Also what are the processes like? Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks

You may as well get a massage while you are there! You won't be sorry! You could skip the body treatment if you want or go ahead and try one, it doesn't really matter, but I wouldn't miss the massage for anything! Yes you can have it all done in a day and you will be so relaxed and feel so wonderful when you leave you won't believe it! They will clean and treat your skin and massage your face and neck. They will soak your feet and hands and do the nails and callouses on your feet and give you a nice foot and leg massage and hand massage. Then for the finale you get the full body massage while listening to soft music and some use aroma therapy! You'll feel like butter when you leave! Enjoy!!I'm a guy n I'm going to the spa for a manicure+pedicure+facial. Should I add in a body treatment n massage?
I would defenetly opt for the massage also. You might not like the body treatment so much tough. I know tons of models that get treatments, so yes its appropriate. Yes, most people also do all of that in one day also. It makes for a busy day, but in the end its worth it.
If you can afford it, go for it. It'll be relaxing after finals. Massages are amazing...you can do as many spa treatments as you want...it's just money in their pocket...they don't mind.
Maybe after you can stop at Forever 21 and get a new outfit and shoes with a matching purse.
Sure, i love going to the spa
dont get it done
im sry dude but manicures pedicures dont u thik that a bit ... gay
I used to work at a spa and we had a lot of guys come in for all of those things, so do not be embarassed!

Manicure will probably take about 30 mins. Pedicure: an hour. Facial: an hour. We didn't have the body treatments at our spa so I can't really tell you how long those take. But, I'm sure you could get all of those treatments in the same day, if you book well in advance.

Go for it! You deserve it! Its your graduation! You'll be more relaxed and better looking for when your family comes to see you graduate.

Definitely do the massage, but the body treatment is kinda weird to me.

Facial, mani and pedi are actually all good habits for a guy to have. Enjoy!I'm a guy n I'm going to the spa for a manicure+pedicure+facial. Should I add in a body treatment n massage?
sure as long as you can afford it, i especially approve of exfoliation which is great for your skin.

YOU CAN DEFINATELY DO A: MANI-PEDI%26amp;FACIAL WITHIN 1-3 HOURS DEPENDING ON THE SPA (QUALITY TAKES TIME). I WOULD DEFINATELY GO FOR THE MASSAGE! BELIEVE ME IF YOU HAVE STRESS, YOU WILL WALK OUT FLOATING! IF YOU GO FOR A MORE INTENSE MASSAGE 30 MIN'S IS PLENTY FOR YOUR FIRST TIME.
Massages feel good, but they aren't really worth it :/ I would say, unless you have a lot of money to blow, skip it.

Umm wear just like jeans and a T-shirt

And be sure to wear flipflops or sandals
guys dont do these things

oh ma god, u should totally go with the 30 min massage, i mean who wouldn't.You should do the Hungarian Herbal Mud Treatment, duh i heard it's one of the best. You should totally go with the manicure and pedicure it feels soooo great.

Yeaa, im not really into us guys getting pedicures and manicures but if you think it's worth it go ahead.
A man getting a manicure or a pedicure is hard for me to swallow (unless you are gay, then it seems perfectly acceptable). However, body massages are cool. Go for it-- you have worked hard and it will be a nice graduation gift to yourself. Have fun!
I don't know about the different facials, but don't let anyone talk you out of going. It's not gay at all to take pride in how you look.
man more lik manwhor PEDICURE!!!!!!!
did you tell your boyfriend your going to the spa???
try the massage! they feel soo good! :)
add it all treat yourself youve worked hard in college

i've never had one but it sounds nice haha
.. lol. i support u! get a massage.
first off i totally applaud you for getting the manicure and pedicure too many boys have gross nails and too long cuticles second get a body treatment i recommend the herbal one and massages are a great way to relive stress get the 30 min one if you have the usual amount of stress but the longer one might be better since its after finals also by doing this your not being gay or inappropriate but if you do feel uncomfortable going ask one of your female friends to go with you then you can play it off as her wanting you to go and if you do get all this may i suggest a haircut too just to complate the whole transformation
there is nothing wrong with a guy goin to a spa. what just cuz ur a guy u cant relax? i actually work at a spa. im new but ive been told guys come in often. get a massage. u will love it. i am a massage therapist. it is def worth the money. if u can afford it go with an hour. a half is never enough time. lol have fun

  • I am 38 weeks pregnant ,and i want a pedicure. How can i do it w/o going to the spa?

My husband is handleing our finances and he will not give me the money to get my nails done. all i want is to have cute feet for the delivery of our first child.I don't usually ask for something like this . actually the last time i got my nails done was my senior prom (5 years ago!) I clean his clothes ,cook for him ect... i mean he is a great guy surpises me with flowers randomly and buying wendy's burgers at midnight . any ideas on how to convince him to pay for my pedicure or how i can do it myself?I am 38 weeks pregnant ,and i want a pedicure. How can i do it w/o going to the spa?
I had a hard time justifying to my husband why I wanted pedicures every 3-4 months before I became pregnant, then I took him with me one day and got him one. He's been hooked ever since. This will probably not work in your situation though.

I suggest just throwing a tantrum to get what you want if you have already tried talking to him. LOL Tell him not to buy you anymore flowers or hamburgers and you can use the money he would have used on that for a pedicure. He's probably nervous about money and doesn't see it as a necessary expense, but as pregnant women, we understand! You could paint your toenails, but nothing will compare to that spa pedicure!!!I am 38 weeks pregnant ,and i want a pedicure. How can i do it w/o going to the spa?
if I wanted something and my husband was absolutely against it, I would go to my mom. she was the only person who I borrowed money from and I would pay her back when I had it. or maybe you could talk to him about taking your mom for mothers day. tell him that you want to do mothers day early because the baby will be here on mothers day and tell him that way you get to spend quality time with your mother. then you can get your pedicures together and knock out two birds with one stone.
If you can reach your own feet, it wouldn't hurt to do your own pedicure. I do mine when I am strapped for cash and need them done.

They don't cost that much, I don't see why your husband wouldn't pay for one. Silly, what a tight wad.

If you want to try to convince your husband to give you what you want, give your husband a good rubbing in his bare crotch area with your feet, once he feels how rough your feet are.... he'll give ya the funds to get your feet done! hehe

    Good luck!
Hope your husband also handles your spelling (handleing???).

But, seriously, how about a sister? Or, if your husband is such a great guy maybe he could give you a pedicure.

Believe me, though, during delivery NOBODY is going to be looking at your feet.
My husband is the same way. So if you ask him and he tells you no then ask him to do it for you. My husband would rather pay than to do it himself. Shows how much he cares.... but I think a lot of men are like that.
You can go to one of those little nail shops. I think a pedicure may cost about $20, depending on where you live. If that's even out of the question maybe a friend could do it for you? I'd imagine at 38 weeks you would have difficulty doing it yourself.
Just tell him you deserve to be pampered before you give birth to your child! Or just tell him that if he doesnt vvant to pay for it then HE can give you one himself! lol
Make your husband give you the pedicure! Or call your best friend over, I bet she'd help you out. :)
let him know mother's day is coming up and you would like a pedicure as your gift :-)
ask a friend to give you one.
ask someone to do it for a favor.

adn then treat them to something

    like lunch or something
    Oh wow!

Ask him to give you your pedi..maybe then he will up the cash!
    Sad.

Salon/spa employees...I have a tip question. I had a pedicure done today at the place I ususally go. They?

Do a really great job, it is about an hour long, and it costs $20.00. I paid $20 and tipped her $5 in cash, thinking I was being generous. She was gracious, but later when she thought I couldn't hear her she grumbled and scoffed to the other workers about how she ';only'; got $5.

Again, I thought I was being generous with a 25% tip (thinking 15% is normal). Was I off the mark?

    I blushed and left quickly.

Thanks!Salon/spa employees...I have a tip question. I had a pedicure done today at the place I ususally go. They?
tips are one of those tricky subjects.. I think you gave her a fair amount, and she's just ungrateful.. in theory you didn't have to tip her at all (she gets paid a wage and should be happy to get any tip at all, especially seeing as she's so ungrateful for those that she does get lol) if I were you I would continue to go there and not tip her at all anymore!! Then perhaps she'll appreciate the next $5 tip she gets :P (or go there and have someone else do your nails, then tip them twice as much! lol I'm so mean sometimes, but that's so rude!! Even to say it without you hearing it, she doesn't deserve your tips with an attitude like that)Salon/spa employees...I have a tip question. I had a pedicure done today at the place I ususally go. They?
i think you did right, that's what I tip too but my pedicure never last no hour..they are always so busy. next time if you get her again in fact ask for her and when shes done..hand her a piece of paper that says TIP and inside write ..my tip to you today is don't complain to coworkers in front of customers about a $5.00 tip. Then you might have actually got one today. Sincerely, Karma..:)
No, 5 dollars is fine! People usually want more and it's supposed to be 15% anyway.I work in a beauy salon i usually get 15% or 5 dollars when people feel generous.Don't worry people can sometimes want more you know they are never satisfied!!
After I give a nice deluxe pedicure to my customers, I still get paid $5 tip at the most. It's a very nice tip, cuz people usually don't tip at all, or just leave a dollar or two.

You should have gone back and asked her what the hell she meant by ''only 5 bucks''.

Stand up for yourself, don't be apushover.
wow, i think that's messed up! i would never go back there again. and to be honest...if i heard somebody say that when they thought i couldn't hear them...i would simply walk to the person who did my nails and just grab the cash out of her hand.

Pedicure S.O.S!!! I need to know what they use in the spa...?

I would like to do my own pedicures and I want to know what products they use in the nail salon and spas to make your feet feel soft and smooth. If anyone knows, please inform me. Thanks!Pedicure S.O.S!!! I need to know what they use in the spa...?
They use a sloughing lotion, that sloughs off all of the dead skin. They also use a foot file to remove any tough skin on the soles and heels. Then some super moisturizing lotion.Pedicure S.O.S!!! I need to know what they use in the spa...?
I've never personally had a professional pedi mainly because it's so unsanitary. I have given myself awesome pedis for years though. Here are some tips:

鈥irst soak ur feet in hot water with some foot soak or bath salts for like 20 minutes

鈥hen clean all that icky gunk out from around your nails, then cut straight across to prevent ingrown nails. Then file to make sure the edges are smooth.

鈥se a pedegg or a pumice stone on your rough spots and you'll see dead skin just peel off, it's awesome how soft pumice stones make your feet.

鈥hen use a nail brush to make sure there is nothing left on your nails that will keep polish from looking smooth. Make sure you use a base coat to prevent your nails from staining yellow. Apply 2 coats of color and 1 coat of clear on top

鈥fter your nails are dry, use a thick moisturizer like a body butter or bath and body works true blue spa shea it isn't so foot cream. It works awesome and smells so clean! Never moisturize before painting because oil keeps polish from sticking long so you'll have chips faster.

鈥lso, if you have a problem with foot odor, buy some tea tree oil and either massage directly to your feet or add to your foot soak. It smells really strong at first but after you get familar with it it smells wonderful. It works wonders for tons of skin problems. I've had acne for 10 years and this past year has been moderate to severe. After giving up on chemicals like retin a micro and proactiv and many many others, I started using tea tree oil and my skin is almost completely clear now. It also works well as an antiseptic on minor scrapes and cuts.

If you are considering getting that many services done on the same day you may want to see if they offer packages that include several treatments. This may save you money. As far as dressing for the spa you can wear whatever you want because as soon as you get there you will change into a robe and sandals that they will provide.
THat's a LOT to have done in one day, makes for a very long day. I've never scheduled so many things at once. Usually, they can't fit you in for all of that in one day.

If you are having all this in one day, have the mud treatment first and mani/pedi last. You don't want to mess up a nice mani-pedi. Just a thought...
lol haha ur kidding right? *shakes head and chuckles* nail polish on a guy.................. i %26lt;3 the masages on the feet but since ur a guy it's really wierd. there's never been a guy except 4 a masage there
Go and get the lot done,it would feel fantastic, just don't get coloured nails, clear would be fine.
Real men don't go to spas!

    Snap.
    dont do it
don't lisetening to that a** guys do go to the spa and Do whatever you want

My husband got me a great gift certificate for Valentines Day at the spa. It's for a massage, pedicure, facial

,and haircut. Three different people will be working on me. I need help on how much I should tip each one.My husband got me a great gift certificate for Valentines Day at the spa. It's for a massage, pedicure, facial
You can tip each one according to how much you like their service.I would be happy with a tip of 20% of service cost.

    So,haircut is $35.00,you would tip $7.00...You see.

Pedicure is $35.00,you would tip another,$7.00.

Same with Massage 20% of cost of massage.

Have fun, sounds really nice .My husband got me a great gift certificate for Valentines Day at the spa. It's for a massage, pedicure, facial
20%( +/-) for each different employee.
The massage person will work on you the longest. $10

    Give the others between $3-5.
Only tip if there is a happy ending involved, and then probably 20% would be appropriate.
Firstly, in my opinion, You should tip -only- if you like the job they've done. Secondly, when I have spa days, I tip between 3-7 dollars a person. If you absolutely adore the way you look, I would go as much as 10 dollars a person.
you can tip 10% of total cost of sevices

one who does massage should be tipped more
Call the salon, ask how much each service would cost (as if you were paying for it instead of using a gift certificate) and tip 25% of the cost of the service.
i dont think you should tip them. Your husband bought you the certificate there for you shouldnt have to pay any thing else..... Thats why its a gift certificate.. :)

What is a silk wrap for nails?do you prefer a pedicure or manicure or manicure for my first spa visit?

I am going to a spa for my birthday and am wondering if I should get a manicure or pedicure? my toenails are all mest up, and short and the skin around them are gross, can they fix them. do facials work?, and do you have to be completely naked for a massage? can you wear a takini for a massage? i dont want to show anything! thats ambarrsing! how do you now a spa is good? to get a french manicure, do your nails need to be long? please answer as many ?'s as possible, give me advice pleaseWhat is a silk wrap for nails?do you prefer a pedicure or manicure or manicure for my first spa visit?
In a silk wrap, they add silk fibers to your nails and seal it for strength. As far as me, I would 10 times rather have a pedicure than a manicure. It's so relaxing! And, it can sometimes be hard to get all the rough skin, and clean up little toenails yourself (because you have to bend over, while the salon person has more leverage). You can keep as little or as much on for the massage as you want. If you don't want to show too much, just do what feels comfortable. They will keep whatever part they're not massaging covered with a towel. Remember, they see bodies all day...my friend's dad who is an ob-gyn says that he never understands why women are uncomfortable getting pelvic exams. He says that he does so many, that it's just automatic--they all seem the same, and he doesn't ever notice if people shave or whatever. lol I'm sure massage therapists are the same way. If you want to be modest, you could wear boy shorts and a sports bra. Enjoy! What is a silk wrap for nails?do you prefer a pedicure or manicure or manicure for my first spa visit?
i would do a pedicure and as far as the massage goes i wouldn't worry about it because your not completely naked and you have a towl over you

Check out Canadian Spa Imports website. They are distributors of the garra rufa fish as well as the chin chin fish. They have put together a very informative ebook at a very reasonable price that will help answer most of the pertinent questions. What if you do all Foot Massages? Everyone works all day and you perform 32 foot massages...Total revenue: $544

Obviously we need to combine the services to maximize profits.

The best way to do this is to schedule 27 pedicures@$10 each

    ---%26gt;Revenue $270 with a total of 405 labor minutes

    And 23 Foot Massages@$17 each

    A pedicure takes 15 minutes, a massage takes 45 minutes, and there are 3 employees who each work 8 hours per day. Total employee hours = 8 X 3 = 24 = 1440 minutes

    Answer = 24

RohnWord Problem! :0 A Spa makes $10 on each pedicure and $17 on each foot massage.?
I think you should just have 50 pedicures but this doesnt take up all of the 24 man hours. this only takes 12.5 hours but this would make the spa the most money. its that simple fire one of your employes and let the remaining two work for 6.25 hours or better yet let one work a full 8 and the other only 2.25 so you dont have to let them take a lunch.... business is cruel lol
first off feet are nasty and they should charge more but what is the pay of the employees there is not enough information to correctly answer in my opinion

Would a girl like a manicure/pedicure at a spa as a romantic suprise gift?

heck yea...i know i would love that as a romantic giftWould a girl like a manicure/pedicure at a spa as a romantic suprise gift?
Wonderful idea.Would a girl like a manicure/pedicure at a spa as a romantic suprise gift?
That is the best gift you can give a woman!
    HELL YEAH
I know girls and the answer is yes..
I can't think of any girls I know of who wouldn't appreciate that. Women love to to be pampered physically, and to be made to feel special. Tossing in a candlelight dinner for the two of you would be a great addition, too.
Hell yeah almost all women want manicures and pedicures, sh** I wish my husband would get me that kind of gift
Yes! a girl would. also flowers would be nice! :)
    yeh I'd love that.
Yes, that would be a wonderful gift. It would be better if you did it yourself. It would mean more to her.
I sure would! My number is ***-***-****! Call me or I can meet you there! LOL.
    I would. Good thinking.
    i know i would :]
Absolutely! Girls love to feel pampered...
Or get her tanning sessions, and a date with a massage therapist
i sure as heck would! that would be nice

    probably expensive though huh
That would depend on how long I had been with a guy. Instead sigfn her up for a massage or something. Tell her that she works so hard that you want her to relax.
well she would but if you want to give her a romantic gift, you should do something more serious and romantic of course so she world feal more special ,make her a romantic dinner so you can have time to tell her everything you like about her.trust me she would love it im a girl too and thats what i would love if somebody did that to me.
    yeaaaah

is this girl your significant other or someone that you're interested in?

if you two aren't involved i would do something more on the unmaterialistic side anything else might be a little awkward.

    perhaps a poem

    a single red rose

    a mixed cd, etc.

if you're already involved with her, i would add something a little more personal.

do it yourself (it would be great to have the extra time together plus it would be sweet to see you trying to do something most men wouldn't do for a woman but then again i would get the certificate too so she can get them done right. i don't know though; you might end up doing a good job.)

    a homemade candle lit dinner

    a walk in the park

anything you think would make her feel special...

Well soap makes your skin dry and uncomfortable and normal salt is just going to damage your hair. And you don't have to buy expensive things just buy normal once!!!!!

Do you think fish spa or fish pedicure is just a fad?

saw this piece on http://www.techxiety.com/techxiety/2008/鈥?/a> . Are there any real benefits or is my sister just wasting money??Do you think fish spa or fish pedicure is just a fad?
as long as there is a good filtration system for the water and the feet are cleaned before they are submerged, i think it's a great thing. having your callouses scraped off can be painful if not done properly. scratches and scrapes caused by this can become infected. the little fish only eat the dead skin. it's much safer and less painful.Do you think fish spa or fish pedicure is just a fad?
There is no proven real medical benefit from fish spa as yet other than it exfoliate dead skin - nature's way and thereafter aids skin rejuvenation as dithranol, an enzyme secreted by the SPA fish; accelerates the process. http://www.blackforest.com.sg

I don't know exactly which of them is cheaper, but you could just phone them and ask about their prices. I found spas in Las vegas on www.infospa.org. Take a look and use the contact information they provide there. What is the cheapest spa that I can go to on the Las Vegas strip for a massage, pedicure, and manicure?
There alot of hotels who's spas will not let you use their serices if you are not staying there, so look for places that are in some of the many malls (the Fourm Shops and Fashion Square Mall are the biggest). might be best to go somewhere in your home town that way you will not have to work around a time and waste a day in Vegas when there are so many other things that are better than getting your nails done. Plus you will want to look your best the whole time you are there.

Did you see the article about the spa that had the patrons put their feet into small transparent fish tanks so that a certain kind of little fishes in the tank could nibble away the dead skin on their toes and feet? I'm going to go get a pedicure and was wondering if it will last as long as the ones I get at regular nail places (usually 4 weeks).Getting a pedicure at a top rated spa?
They all last the same... the only difference is that at a spa they do more for you such as a longer pedicure session. As for the color and all, it will last the same so there isn't really a difference except for the higher cost and longer session.

    Spa Pedicure?

What exactly is spa pedicure? I have never done pedicure. I need to know what they do to your feet other than painting it. Thanks!Spa Pedicure?
Every salon is different. A spa pedicure typically puts a mask on your legs and feet, scrubs off calluses, lotions and massages, file, shape and paint. A quick pedi is usually just a file and paint. Then there are various in between services, just ask your salon. IT's absolutely amazing. I crave them because it's so relaxing and your feet look great and you feel clean and put together.Spa Pedicure?
A spa pedicure is where you get your toenails painted but instead of them getting dry painted you sit in a massage chair and you put your feet in this bath type thingy and then they wash your feet. Not much difference.

How to do pedicure at home with foot spa machine??

Can i use shampoo in that ....wont it hurt the machine?? and tell me wat all things i can use to get a salon pedicure at home. How to do pedicure at home with foot spa machine??
You can just use your body wash, that is best. I also add some Epsom salts to the water to soften my skin. You want to also get a nail brush, foot pumice, nail file, nail buffer, cuticle pusher, cuticle trimmer (be very careful not to cut yourself), under nail cleaner, clippers, base coat, polish and top coat. You also want to rub your feet and legs with a great moisturizing lotion.

Dr. Scholl's sells some great foot products for any problems you have (you can find them at Target or Wal-mart).How to do pedicure at home with foot spa machine??
Ok I do them all the time first use a peppermint foot soak it helps soften the foot. Next get a pedicure kit they sell them in the drug store clean the nails. A pumice stone to smooth them out an a good lotion to moisturize your feet.
Don't use shampoo in it. They make special gels for soaking your feet. First soak your feet in the warm water. One at a time, while the other soaks...remove the dead skin from the soles of your feet with a pumice stone or loofa. Soak first foot. And repeat with second foot. After removing dead skin from both feet, take out first foot again and get dirt out of nails. Repeat on 2nd foot. Soak again. When done soaking pat completely dry. Then lotion with a deep moisturizing lotion for feet. Paint toes. OH....actually the FIRST step is to file and remove old polish. lol sorry.

Best way 2 dry cell phone after dropping in pedicure spa?Put in bowl of rice OR in plastic bag w/ silica packs

First, you gotta take the battery out immediately. The longer the battery is exposed to water, the more damage will be done. I'd take out the SIM card too if you can. If possible, take it apart as much as you can and blow it as dry as you can with a hair dryer. Then let it sit for at least a week, because there will be water in places you can see or can't get to with the dryer. I don't think rice or silica will make any difference since it won't touch the moisture, but you could certainly try. If it doesn't work after a week, it has irrepairable damage. I have an old phone I use as a backup when this happens, since my provider lets you switch phones online.Best way 2 dry cell phone after dropping in pedicure spa?Put in bowl of rice OR in plastic bag w/ silica packs

As a nail tech, I can tell you that getting a pedicure is the BEST thing to go for!!!! Your feet take a beating every day and need the most care... it's also the most relaxing of the spa services--aside from a full massage. For the best experience, avoid those discount nail salons--too much traffic for relaxing.

Silk Wraps are for reinforcing your natural nail, they don't serve well as artificial nails alone. If you have fairly strong natural nails and just need a little extra help in keeping them from breaking this would be a good option for you.

Go for a specialty pedicure! Don't skimp on the price, you want the best!

Things to avoid... foot razors! Only a medical dr should be using blades (most states they are illegal but some get away with it because folks don't know they are) Avoid any tech that's not willing to explain proceedures, and run like the dickens if the footbath isn't clean or they pull their clippers (metal instruments) out of a drawer (they should be in a sanitizer bath or sealed packages) and make sure they use NEW files and such (the disposable stuff).

Massages are great if you like them (I've always been too weird about people touching my body to be comfortable) and no, you don't have to be totally nude. Explain that you are nervous and they will understand... ANY respectable massage therapist will be more than glad to accomidate you to make you comfortable!

  • What is the difference in a pedicure from a discount nail salon and one from a spa?

You'll need to read what is performed for what you pay. Sometimes there is no difference in the service, you might be paying for: that nicer chair you sit on, the longer length of time it takes for the service to be performed in order to feel pampered, high rent on the location maybe?, etc., etc.

    You get it.

Is it OK for me to get a spa pedicure at 6 months pregnant?

Sure, a pedicure will not affect your pregnancy.

There is an article I found that suggests you should have them avoid your ankles if they are giving you a massage because of a small chance of pressure points there triggering contractions. Personally, I don't buy that, but you can have them avoid doing that just in case if you want to. The only other thing it mentions as a concern is fumes from the polish they might use on your feet. Most places are going to be ventilated well enough, so I really don't think it should be a concern for you. Other than that, no problems with getting a pedicure.

    Here is the article:

no, spa pedicure wouldn't harm the baby and won't cause you to go into labor. It's always nice to pamper yourself
yes it is fine, go on pamper yourself!
I guess my concern would be inhaling all those toxic fumes for the entire time you're getting it done.
Sure...as long as you tell them you are pregnant if you are having a foot massage.
Why wouldn't it be? Email me back the reason then i'll find out for you.
I just had one a few days ago. There's no reason not to.
yes - pamper yourself while you can. just make sure it is a clean place - pregnant or not.
yes but make sure after that you drink alot of water
yes, every gal should pamper themselves when pregnant!!
Surely! Have fun! I want one too!
    Sure you can, pamper yourself!
why not - I don't think that nail polish is on the bad list or anything...
The pedicure by itself is fine.. but depends on anything else you want to do? I mean I would tell the therapist to not have to many open and smelly chemicals around you, just to keep it to the nail varnish. Like not to have open bottles of acetone or anything and to be too near any other women that are having wierd and chemically treatments.

As long as you arent also going in for a sauna or spa bath then fine... just the pedicure.. thats fine.

:) Good luck and have fun!

How much wattage does a spa pedicure chair use?

building a salon, was wondering how many pedicure chairs can go on a 15 amp circuit? How much wattage does a spa pedicure chair use?
If you're using chairs like the one at http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-PEDICURE-SPA-CHA鈥?/a> which draw 4.7 Amps for the chair (not counting whirlpool or discharge pump), you may not even be able to put one on a 15 amp circuit, because while it *runs* on less than 5 amps (which means 3 of them could run on a circuit), they draw about *four times* that much at startup... so they need nearly 20 amps to safely start.

A 20 amp circuit could run 2 or 3, as long as they're not started all at once.

Answer soon please - Do the spa pedicure people take care of soft corns? I don't want to get an infection.

I want a pedicure.. my new job has given me my first corn, I think. It's kind of soft, so I don't know if it's a corn.. what do they do? I'm afraid they'll put a pumice over it and break the skin?Answer soon please - Do the spa pedicure people take care of soft corns? I don't want to get an infection.
Spa pedicures are great but you can also get an infection from them and they could get carried away. I would purchase a product made for reducing friction. Corn removal products are not recommended because you can get carried away and further damage the skin. A corn usually is found on the top of boney prominent features of your foot %26amp; calluses are on the bottom of your feet. They can be soft. You might want to consider padding the area you have the most friction. If you have to wear heals consider using the BandAid brand Blister relievers they are smaller and will help reduce friction in more fitted/pretty shoes.

Well there is a pressure point call Spleen 6 that is just above your ankle bone that if stimulated may cause contractions or induce a labor that it close to being ready anyways. If they gave you a vigorous massage it could have stimulated this response.Sorry tmi but i had diarreah today and i went for a spa pedicure?

What should I tip someone for an acrylic fill-in that costs $15? A spa pedicure that costs $20?

an appropriate tip is about 15%, so i would give about 2 or 3 dollars or a $15 treatment, and about $3 or $4 for the $20 one !What should I tip someone for an acrylic fill-in that costs $15? A spa pedicure that costs $20?
If they did a very good job give them 5 dollars,

If not, no tip of 2 or 3 dollars :)

hope this helpedWhat is better a spa manicure or a regular pedicure?
For the manicure, they clean your hands up, cut your nails, shape your nails, file them, and then paint them. They usually do a few coats. They end up quite pretty! For a pedicure, they wash and massage your feet, cut-file- and shape your nails, then paint them with a few coats. They both turn out very pretty and mine have lasted around 2 weeks to a month.
id go for the pedi. w/manicures the nail polish seems to start to chip after a few days. I do dishes and clean the kitchen maybe this is why. the pedicures last longer and are perfect for summer since you wear sandals most of the time :o)

What percentage should I be tipping when I get a spa pedicure?

    good question.

    I say two variables here

1- how nasty are your feet?

2- how comfortable and nice is the person who does it?

Id say tip like your hairdresser... if there is such a calculation. What percentage should I be tipping when I get a spa pedicure?
depends how good of a job they do! i say %10 is the minimum, %20 if they did a really good job. keep in mind if you'll want to go back to this spa again for treatments, because they will definitely remember how good or bad you tipped and thus how good the service will be next time around. What percentage should I be tipping when I get a spa pedicure?
    Percentage shmiercentage!

Give what you can afford/what you think is appropriate! if you have a dollar to give him/her, then give them that if you think they deserved a tip!

Go by your budget and your judgement of what they deserve!
I Always tip at least 15%. And when they do a really good job I even give a 20%. I think you麓re the one to know that, but I know that you should tip every time you do it. Be generous with other , maybe you麓re the next one to get some generosity!!!!
15%-20%. The technicians really depend on the tips, especially if it's a commission based position.
I don't really go off of percentages. I usually tip $5-$10 depending on how good of a job they did
    15 %
    awesome-15%-20%

    good-10%-15%

    poor-6-10%

    horrible-0%-5%
    10% of the price?
    If the person did a good job - 15 - 20%

Where can I find the blue stuff the nail shops put in the spa for a pedicure?

I'm working on creating my own spa pedicure so if you know some good products to use for mani's and pedi's that'd be great!Where can I find the blue stuff the nail shops put in the spa for a pedicure?
Creative Nail Design (now known as simply CND), makes an excellent line of both manicure, and pedicure products. Since you mentioned spa pedicures, here is what CND has to offer in that area:

    For callus, or cuticle removal, the best products I have used are called Cuticle Eliminator, and Callus Eliminator. These are mafe by a company called 'Be Natural.'; They also make a great lotion for your feet, but it can be used anywhere else on your body except for your face. Its called 'Dry Heel Eliminator.';

To finish up your mani/pedi with a great topcoat, nothing beats Seche Vite Fast Dry Topcoat. It has to be applied while the polish is still wet though, so remember that. Seche also makes some other great products as well, but their Topcoat is my favorite of them all:

BTW, the site that I used is only for reference. I'm not trying to advertise for them. In fact, I have never bought anything from this company. But, they had some pictures of the products I am referring to. Buy these products anywhere you choose. Its still the same thing, no matter where you buy it! The only thing that varies is the price.Where can I find the blue stuff the nail shops put in the spa for a pedicure?
Id try going to your local beauty supply store. Most have almost everything. Also bath and body works has TONS of good pedicure stuff Im sure youd be able to find something there. GL!
Check Bath and Body Works. I love that blue stuff!

I would say shoulders should be fine, but why not just call real quick and ask? Most baby Dr's are used to calls all the time about things like this. Or if you're really worried, I know my spa can just turn the massager off.Spa pedicure in massage chair while pregnant?

If you are looking for info on spa tanks then http://www.princefish.com/id13.html this crowd are a good resource never bought anything off them though.

Bare in mind though that these are comunal tanks and if you want to operate in the states many states will prevent you from using these you would have to use individual tanks per customer.

Attention El Pasoans: Is there a salon/spa here that does NOT use jets for pedicures?

I had one bad experience with those jets at a not-so-clean spa, and I will only go to ones that use a water bowl to soak your feet in. Is there any place like that in El Paso? I can't seem to locate one. Thank you for your help.Attention El Pasoans: Is there a salon/spa here that does NOT use jets for pedicures?
You can go to the discount spa on Dyer street and ask them not to turn on the jets! They will just let you soak if or they have buckets.. But that one cleans Ive seen them do it. Or if that's the one you are having a problem with I can't be much of a help I only go there...

What is the difference between a pedicure and a spa pedicure?

About 75 bucks. What is the difference between a pedicure and a spa pedicure?
A spa pedicure you typically are in the big chairs and they have a small tub with jets, they really give alot of attention such as rubbing your feet and calves with a scrub, using pumice stones, cleaning up the cuticles and nails, Doing a paraffin dip, using polish with base and tops coats and using lotion on feet an dcalves. It does cost more then the basic pedicaure, but it feels SO good!!! I always think it is worth it. They typically run between $50-65, but a nice little splurge once in awhile! What is the difference between a pedicure and a spa pedicure?
With a spa pedicure ';better'; products are used and there is also more of a massage give (up the calves) However, if you find the right place to get a pedicure, that would be standard
A spa pedicure is more expensive because it includes a massage.
The price and sometimes even the care/attention they give you.

I have a bride who wants someone(s) from a spa to travel to the site for pedicures for her and her bridesmaids on the day of the wedding in Orlando, FL. I cant find anyone who can do it, or maybe Im just using the wrong search criteria. Any help would be great! Thanks! What are some spa's that will do on site pedicures for a wedding in Orlando, FL?
Check with the local beauty schools. Many times the senior students will do onsite services and they will probably less expensive than a spa. What are some spa's that will do on site pedicures for a wedding in Orlando, FL?
Call any salon in the Orlando area. I'm a hairdresser in Oviedo and know a lot of nail techs who do on site work. Your best bet is a salon that does booth rental. The nail techs make their own schedules and you'll have better luck.

    Good Luck.
